Who We Are AND What We Do
A Village for One is a Portland based not-for-profit organization developed to serve children who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. An astounding number of youth in the Portland and surrounding areas have experienced this global crime against children.
Our aim is to bring the talents and gifts of our community together to create an opportunity to serve each child that has been impacted by sexual exploitation in our local community. The community unites to provide youth with a home, nourishment, education, holistic healing, mentorship, service, and opportunity to grow, believe, and become their greatest potential.
In 2015, A Village for One opened our first outpatient mental health clinic location in Clackamas County, Oregon, and most recently in 2018 we opened our second outpatient clinic in Marion County, Oregon. While working to provide trauma informed mental health services to this population of youth we are also raising funds to assist in the opening of our first therapeutic residence.
In 2020, our dream of establishing a therapeutic residential program for female or female identifying youth came true with the grand opening of Anisa's Place!
In 2022, A Village For One expanded our outpatient services into Washington County and also received funding to hire a full time case manager who works with youth in all counties that A Village For One serves.
